Escort Cards vs. Place Cards

I am often asked what is the difference between place cards and escort cards. There is a very simple answer to this question.

Escort cards show the name of the wedding guest and the table where they are sitting.
A place card actually is placed at the seat of the individual wedding guest at the table.

Typically you would not have a place card without an escort card unless you are having a small number of guests. Got it?

Here are a few examples of how to display an Escort Card:

It makes it easy for your guests when they know exactly where they are sitting. Even though that seating chart is such an enormous task it is necessary to keep your wedding reception organized. Plus you end up with great pictures like the ones above. :)

Not-so-ordinary Table Numbers for your wedding

I love to find wedding details that are off the beaten path. Your wedding should look like you, feel like you and have your thumbprint all over it. I found these table numbers on the haystack needle blog, where this fabulous wedding was featured. The event planners for this wedding designed these numbers based on the details of how the couple met and with keeping the high ceilings of this venue in mind. When designing the details of your wedding consider thinking beyond the ordinary. This is a great example of how a table number can be a great conversation piece. See more of the details of this beautifully simple wedding here.
