Button Mums: The Not-so-Ordinary Wedding Flower

I initially started this post to talk about this gorgeous clutch and ring pillow covered with mums by Branch Design Studio and captured by Juliet Elizabeth Photography, but I got so inspired by these little flowers. They come in a variety of colors and are plentiful during the fall.

Mums are the perfect flower to add that pop of color to a simple white table, like this gorgeous escort card table shown on The Bride's Cafe blog.

Not-so-ordinary Table Numbers for your wedding

I love to find wedding details that are off the beaten path. Your wedding should look like you, feel like you and have your thumbprint all over it. I found these table numbers on the haystack needle blog, where this fabulous wedding was featured. The event planners for this wedding designed these numbers based on the details of how the couple met and with keeping the high ceilings of this venue in mind. When designing the details of your wedding consider thinking beyond the ordinary. This is a great example of how a table number can be a great conversation piece. See more of the details of this beautifully simple wedding here.

Your Bridal Bouquet Accessories

Accesssories make an amazing statement and they should be scattered throughout your wedding design. The important thing is to not go overboard on accessories, but use them in ways that can make a great impact. Remember, good photographers love details so make sure you give them some. Here are some of my favorite accessories for your bridal bouquet.

I am totally in love with this rosary adorning this bouquet.

I have used this image before in a previous inspiration board and I love how this bouquet has just enough sparkle to draw interest. Bouquet created by Squareroot Designs.

What an amazing way to remember those family members who have passed away before your walk down the aisle. I found this image on Handcrafted Seasonal Weddings Blog.

Your Fall Wedding: Drink Displays

All creative details to your wedding do not require a huge portion of your budget. You can simply add creative elements and your own personal style in all aspects of your wedding. The drink display at your cocktail hour and reception can be more than just a table with drinks on it. Here are several displays that caught my eye.

This lovely image was found on the Hostess with the Mostess blog, but is a design out of the bestselling book Simple Stunning Weddings.

I love these displays for outside weddings. The tin bottle drink container was found on the PS I Love This Blog. There are so many glass beverage containers out there to easily achieve this simple yet sophisticated look. This image was found posted on Blogger Brides.

The two images below are perfect if you are having your event outside enjoying the comfortable fall weather. I thought it was a great use for an otherwise ordinary item. The boat and wagon can be rented at Vermont Wedding Props.

Loving this bar display. Take the citrus display away and you have just a table and linen. This is a very cost effective way to add color to your event. The fabulous ladies at Elizabeth Anne Designs posted this image.

The Not-so-Ordinary Wedding Bouquet

I totally was not going to blog about this today, but I could not help it. I actually stumbled upon this wedding a few minutes ago.

It is amazing how creative floral designers are and how they can truly see a bride's vision. Take a look at these bouquets. Now they are not for everybody, but if they are for you, you know it. Beautiful. Unique. Not-so-Ordinary for sure. Brides let your creativity show through every aspect of your wedding.

Take a look at more images from this wedding from Duke Photography, my new favorite photographer to stalk.

The Not-so-Ordinary Flower Girl

Who said the flower girl had to wear an actual dress! I found these adorable handmade tutus designed by Danbuy Lane on Etsy, If you are attempting to create an amazing unique event consider some not-so-ordinary items. Your cute flower girls will definitely get some "awwwwws" wearing a cute tutu down the aisle. Having a little girl who loves to dress up, I know your wedding would not be the last time your flower girl wears that outfit. :)

A Pair of Something Blue

One of my favorite wedding trends now is the sassy, colorful wedding shoe. Of course I also love the over-photographed "shoe shot". I know some photographers are a bit tired of it, but it is so amazing to me how a photographer can make them look like something more than just a pair of shoes. If you are looking for a pair of blue shoes to wear for your wedding day, I have found several that I am personally in love with. Enjoy!

Found these beauties on the Lil Princess Diary Blog. I have been unable to find the designer, but I'll keep looking and if I find it I will post it.

I absolutely love these Giuseppe Zanotti designed heels. This image was found on High. Heels.com .

Now these cuties were found on the Wedding Bee blog, posted by Wedding Bee Author Tiramisu. If you are still looking for a pair of blue wedding shoes, take a look at this post by Tiramisu as she searches for the perfect pair.

The Not-so-Ordinary Bride: Birdcage Veils

birdcage veil

I love the use of simple accessories to change your ordinary bridal look into something chic, modern and nontraditional. Now, let me be clear, I love the ordinary and the traditional. There is nothing more beautiful than a bride whether she's classic or if she is one who evokes her own personal style. Which brings us to the vintage look of the birdcage veil. This one piece adds such sophistication to the bridal look. If you know that you are not the ordinary bride, look for little ways to express your style. It can be done very simply.
